Yesterday at 14:30 hours, on the tarmac outside our hangar, our first “serviced to C of A standards” aircraft, #346, came to life on the first start attempt. #346 Was under the control of JAM pilot Turbo Tarling while under the watchful eyes of Mike Koteles, Derek Hammond and many enthusiastic ground-crew. All airframe and engine checks were good! The test ran for about 5 minutes and that beautiful Nene 10 engine was run up to about 60% power! What a credit to all the efforts in the last year by so many people in so many different ways.

The ramp in front of the jet aircraft museum comes to life with the powerful whine of the Nene 10. Congrats to the many volunteers on this huge milestone! Photo: David Kreutzkamp
JET AIRCRAFT MUSEUM – You can all be proud of this major milestone
Can we handle the next challenge? Now, after such a valiant performance, 346 can not take to the air until we have raised thousands of dollars for oxygen bottles, transponder, altimeter, ELT, fees to TC, sign out fees, etc. If you are able to help in any way – serve on a fund raising team, donate funds, become a sponsor, contribute fund raising ideas – please let us know.
